What's the world coming to???

I've never worried more about the future than in the last 6 months...

Part of it is realizing that I am now a parent...but more of it has to do with the fact that I work in a high school.

To date, I've probably had about 250 kids in my classes...All whom have very different personalities and interests.

There's the Emo kids, the stoners, so on and so forth...But every once in a while-I get the "special" kids...

I'm currently working in a 10th grade College Prep English class. This past week, we were working on Greek Mythology. The assignment was easy, pick a God and tell a story about how earthquakes happen.

One of the boys is a huge Kobe Bryant fan (mind you, this was after the Season Finals)...
For his assignment-he assigned Kobe as a Greek God (what?!?!) and in a 3 page paper, wrote that the reason earthquakes happen is because Kobe is "dunking on people."

To make matters worse, he wrote over a paragraph on why there was a recent earthquake in China...I quote: "The earthquake happened in China because Kobe Bryant dunked on Yao Ming."

YIKES...SEE WHAT I MEAN???

This was also the same kid that on a test, gave Kobe Bryant as an answer to at least 40% of the questions.



Yeahhhhhh.....I love my job!
