FINALLY!!!!

So, obviously we've been back from Vegas from quite some time. As it turns out, I attempted to post something when I got back, and it didn't let me...Lucky for you, I saved it!!!

The woulda-been post: Dated 8/5/08

We're baaaaaaaaaaaaack....

Actually, we've been back since Saturday morning, and by morning- I mean 2AM!!!

The trip was a blast! We left Wednesday morning, and didn't get there until 6 or 7 hours later. First, we stopped to grab a bite to eat. Then, we saw an accident. And then of course, we stopped at the outlets in Primm.

The accident was horrid, it happened after Barstow, about 2 or 3 miles after the new Rest Area they're building out there. In the opposite direction, a van lost control and rolled like 5 times in our direction. It stopped right on the border of the left lane-Soooo Scary. I immediately called 911. Son pulled over and jumped out to help. We were really afraid that there might be kids in the car. Luckily (well, not so luckily), there was only a woman in the car. Lots of people pulled over (about 20 cars) and helped get her out. After we'd left and were almost at Primm, we noticed the ambulance just on its way from Las Vegas. I was shaken up the rest of the day!

Well, after we got to Vegas, we checked into our hotel, The Rio. It was really nice! On our way up to the room, we got stopped by people offering a resort tour in exchange for "gifts". This one was with Wyndham, so I wasn't horribly excited. We've done the same type of tour with Marriott two times before.

We went up to the room, relaxed, changed and went out to grab a shuttle. The wait was a bit of a pain, but it was nice not having to waste gas on the strip (The wait is horrible). We headed to Harrah's to use a coupon we'd received from the Wyndham people for signing up for their "Reward's Club". We don't really gamble, but they gave us a free backpack-heck yeah!

The coupon was for a buy-one get-one free meal at the buffet in Harrah's. Needless to say, we ate wayyyyyyyyy to much. While we were there, Tobie came down with a fever, so we headed back to the hotel in a jiffy.

In the morning, we were picked up for our resort tour. When we arrived, I expected to see a shabby, outdated resort. I was amaaaaaazed! So beautiful! We were there for a few hours, the vacation plans they have were great, and seriously, if I would've had $20k sitting around-I'd be gonnnnnnneeeeee...I liked it wayyyyyyyy more than Marriott!

So, since we didn't buy, they had no option but to give us our rewards. The rewards included 4 buffet tickets and a 3 day/2 night vacation to any of 18 Wyndham resorts. 2 of the buffet tickets were for the World Carnival Buffet, and the other 2 were for the Village Seafood Buffet.

We were starving, so we headed off to the World Carnival Buffet-also amazing! Afterwards, we headed back to our room, relaxed and got ready to go swimming. The pools were awesome! Tobie absolutely loved them!

After showering, we dolled up and headed out to the Mandalay Bay and the Luxor. We visited the aquarium at the Mandalay Bay, which was a great experience. The Luxor was also very nice, but mostly had restaurants and bars...nothing too kid friendly.

We were very tired, so we knocked out at about midnight!

In the morning, we went for an early morning swim. We showered, and checked out. Then we headed into China Town for some Dim Sum (brunch)...SOOOO delicious. We stuffed our faces and headed out for Circus Circus. We spent quite a few hours there, playing games and getting on the rides. Tobie had a blast!

Afterwards, we headed to the Premium Outlets-and oh boy, was it hot! Burning...Seriously, it seemed like a step from hell. We found a few good deals, but left after a few hours. Later in the night, we went to our final stop, the Village Seafood Buffet.
For 2 people the cost was a little over $81, but we got it FREEEEEEE. Can't beat that!

We ate, ate, ate, and ate some more. We had crab, oysters, paella, sushi, lobster, and gelatto! Yummmmm!

We left with a full stomach back to Bak-o. The drive was a pain, but we finally made it. We stepped through the front door at home-sighed, and said "let's go back".
